Oral Surgery Assistant

Responsibilities: - Assist surgeon during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies, suctioning and helping to maintain patient airway at all times - Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available - Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with patient positioning - Document surgical procedures in medical records, including patient information, procedure details, and any complications or observations - Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times - Follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infections - Taking and developing X-rays -Communicating with patients and family member regularly in person and via telephone

Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Surgical Assistant program preferred - X-ray Certification - BLS - Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar role is highly desired - Knowledge of medical documentation systems and procedures - Familiarity with WinOMS or other dental software is a plus - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Knowledge of patient assessment techniques and medical terminology Please note that all positions at our facility are paid positions.
