Job Title Systems Software Programmer LocationColumbia, SCJob Description Sunshine Enterprise USA is retained by our valued client to search and recruit for the following executive opening: Systems Software Programmer Location: Columbia, SC Interview Process: 1 round, in person Duration: 12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience Required: 20+ Years Candidate location: Candidate must be a CURRENT SC resident. No relocation allowed. Project Scope: We are seeking an experienced Systems Software Programmer – Consultant with strong expertise in VB.NET, SQL, state government tax systems, and enterprise application development. The consultant will serve as a senior developer and technical advisor, providing technical guidance, development support, troubleshooting, and application enhancement recommendations. The role involves working on complex software solutions, maintaining system stability, optimizing application performance, and supporting production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
Serve as a senior developer supporting application design, coding, and implementation activities.
Develop, modify, test, and implement software applications.
Configure application components and deliver technical solutions.
Lead and manage small-scale development projects.
Troubleshoot application, database, backup, and recovery issues.
Develop workaround solutions for technical challenges.
Perform software upgrades and system enhancements.
Monitor, maintain, and optimize system infrastructure.
Ensure data integrity, system stability, and application performance.
Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve issues.
Manage multiple tasks and provide regular project updates.
Participate in shared 24/7 on-call support responsibilities.
Required Skills & Experience:
20+ years of experience with VB.NET20+ years of experience with SQL20+ years of experience with State Government Tax Systems 20+ years of experience as a Software Developer
Preferred Skills:
Experience with GENTAXExperience working with government revenue/tax applications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
