Fashion Intern

Hems & Brims is a fiscally sponsored nonprofit project that empowers Black creatives through fashion education, mentorship, resources, and professional development opportunities. In June 2026, we launched our first six-month cohort program, designed to equip emerging Black creatives with the support, knowledge, and opportunities to pursue their goals in fashion and beyond. We are currently accepting applications for two remote internship positions: Events & Community Outreach Intern• Research potential community partners, schools, sponsors, and event opportunities• Support partnership outreach, event coordination, and follow-up communication• Maintain outreach contacts, materials, and partnership information• Identify opportunities to expand Hems & Brims’ community reach Student Engagement Intern Support communication with students throughout the program Share important updates, reminders, deadlines, and resources Assist with student participation and program coordination Support career readiness programming Lead Career Readiness Month (November) sessions and facilitate activities and discussions with students Ideal candidates are organized, dependable, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong communication is essential, along with an interest in fashion, education, community engagement, and supporting Black creatives. Internship Details• Remote• Flexible schedule with occasional virtual meetings• Hands-on nonprofit experience and professional development These internship positions are currently unpaid. However, interns may also be considered for separate paid opportunities through Black Fashion Legacy, depending on project needs. Black Fashion Legacy is an educational initiative of Hems & Brims dedicated to preserving and teaching Black fashion history through educational resources, workshops, partnerships, and community programming.
