Urgent Care Medical Assistant

American Family Care is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support providers in a busy urgent care clinic. In this hands-on role, you’ll room patients, obtain vitals and histories, assist with exams and procedures, perform point-of-care testing, and administer injections and vaccines. You’ll document in the EMR, help with basic front-desk duties, and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms. Room patients, obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaint. Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and medication administration per protocols. Perform point-of-care testing, basic lab work, EKGs, and specimen collection. Administer injections and vaccines following clinical guidelines. Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Support front-desk tasks such as check-in, scheduling, and insurance verification as needed. Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment in a clean, ready state. Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards in an urgent care setting.
