Staff Software Engineer

Overview In this role you lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software within a collaborative engineering context. You will align technical work with business goals, mentor engineers, and promote best practices, including AI-assisted development. You will drive architectural evolutions and explore new technologies to boost product capabilities. Compensation / Benefitshybrid work schedulepotential bonuses and incentivestotal compensation package including bonusescareer growth opportunitiesperks and benefits referenced in the company materials Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable software across platforms Collaborate with product owners, architects, and teams to define requirements and align with business goals Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conducting code reviews and promoting continuous learning Drive best practices in coding, testing, release processes, and AI-assisted development Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues to ensure system stability and performance Contribute to evolving software architecture and identify opportunities for improvement Participate in all SDLC phases from conceptualization to maintenance Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and AI-enabled capabilities Leverage intelligent automation, prompt-driven development, and AI tools where appropriate Communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders Key requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 8+ years of progressive software development experience Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, Python, C#, Go)Strong experience with full-stack development (Angular, React, Node.js, RESTful APIs)Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB)Designing and building RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and release management Familiarity with Generative AI concepts, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise platforms is a plus Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus Experience with AI-assisted development tools/platforms (Git Hub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Google Vertex AI, GCP ADK) is a plus Familiarity with prompt engineering and Responsible AI principles is a plusstrong communicationproblem-solvingteam collaboration Java PythonC#
