Senior Center Division Director The Senior Center Division Director is responsible for leadership and administrative management for a comprehensive program of services designed to support the low income and elderly residents of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation and School District 11 Jt. Performance criteria: Management and supervision of program activities and staff Management and supervision of budgets Data collection, reporting and evaluation responsibilities Develop and maintain partnerships Handyman/Grounds Cook SoCoCAA Organization
Requirements: Qualifications requirements: High School Diploma. A minimum of two years of professional experience in a human services field. Able to readily use word processing, presentation, desktop publishing and spreadsheet programs and able to readily learn specialized computer applications. Must pass the criminal history background and Colorado Adult Protective Services checks. Must have reliable transportation, valid Colorado Driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and be eligible for coverage under SoCoCAA vehicle insurance. Must pass a drug test, pre-employment and random. Well-established written and oral skills; e.g. report/proposal writing and oral presentation. Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others as shown by no less than one year of supervisory management experience. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze data, facts and devise solutions to administrative or programmatic problems. Ability to comprehend, communicate, and implement program goals, objectives and operations and to relate these to administrative objectives and missions. Ability to develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting departmental policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Senior Citizens and their families, SoCoCAA staff, and other agencies. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required. Willingness to work long and irregular hours. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid cards within 45 days. Must have or be able to obtain Food Handler's certification within 45 days. Must have or be able to obtain Serv Safe certification within 45 days.
Preferred: B.S./B.A. in Human Services, Education or related field. Considerable knowledge of the care and needs of Senior Citizens. Considerable knowledge of economic, cultural, and social characteristics of La Plata County and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. Ability to understand budget reports and manage program budgets. Experience in formal program evaluation efforts.
