Role Summary:
Odyssey Ecommerce is hiring an Amazon Search Advertising Strategist to own Sponsored Ads for a portfolio of client accounts as part of a full-service Amazon agency. You'll build advertising strategies that turn client goals into campaign structures, keyword plans, and budget allocations, then use performance data to refine bids, targeting, and spend. You'll focus mainly on Amazon Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display, and you may also manage search advertising on secondary retail media platforms, like Walmart, as client needs require. You'll work as an individual contributor with ownership over client strategy and planning, while staying hands-on in the ad console every day.
Qualifications:
US-based and willing to travel on occasion.2-5 years of experience managing Amazon Sponsored Ads (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display).Working knowledge of Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central, including how inventory, pricing, Buy Box, and listing quality affect ad performance. Comfort analyzing large datasets in Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, search term reports).Familiarity with Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance (SQP), and Amazon Marketing Cloud. Experience with third-party ad tools (e.g., Intentwise, Pacvue, Perpetua, etc.).Experience working within an agency. Overview of
Responsibilities:
As an Amazon Search Advertising Strategist, you'll manage the full lifecycle of Sponsored Ads, from account audits and strategy through daily optimization and client reporting. You'll partner with internal teams and clients, translating their business goals into advertising plans and keeping them informed as performance shifts. Day to day, you will: Build, launch, and optimize Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display campaigns aligned with client KPIs (ACoS, TACoS, ROAS, new-to-brand) and budgets Design campaign structures that separate branded, competitor, category, and discovery traffic so clients can see where growth comes from Run ongoing keyword research, search term harvesting, and negative keyword management to grow relevant traffic and cut wasted spend Monitor performance daily, adjusting bids, budgets, placements, and dayparting to improve efficiency Plan and manage advertising around key retail events (Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday/Cyber Monday)Communicate performance updates and strategic recommendations to clients on a regular cadence Manage search advertising on secondary retail media platforms (Walmart, Instacart) for clients who run cross-platform campaigns Collaborate with Odyssey Brand Strategists (Account Managers) and clients to align on budgets and allocation that meet performance goals Partner with Odyssey's DSP Media Strategists to coordinate full-funnel strategy across search and programmatic Stay current on Amazon Ads platform updates, beta features, and certifications About Odyssey Ecommerce At Odyssey, we are a growth-focused agency partnering with brands to scale their presence on Amazon and other e-retailers.
