Part-Time Director of Music Centenary United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, KY September 23, 2026 Centenary United Methodist Church is seeking a passionate, skilled Director of Music to lead our choir and congregation in worship through music. This part-time role (approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, varying with the church calendar) is a wonderful fit for a gifted musician looking for meaningful, flexible church work.

Play piano (organ, guitar, or other instruments a plus) Select and prepare music and lyrics for musicians and the AV team each week Help lead special services (Christmas Eve, Holy Week, Easter) Grow and nurture music ministry across all ages, including a children's choir Collaborate with the Lead Pastor on the vision for worship

Proven experience directing a choir or vocal ensemble Comfort with both traditional and contemporary worship styles Willingness to work within United Methodist doctrine and polity Excellent communication skills and a heart for ministry
