Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse (NICU)

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for our Level II/III NICU. The RN provides specialized care to high-risk and premature newborns, performing comprehensive assessments, administering medications, managing ventilators and IVs, and closely monitoring vital signs. Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams while educating and supporting families. Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and evidence-based protocols. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication, and compassion in a fast-paced, family-centered environment. Deliver direct nursing care to premature and high-risk newborns in the NICU Perform ongoing assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in patient status Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate specialized NICU equipment including ventilators Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team Educate and support families on infant conditions, treatments, and discharge planning Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record Follow all safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice protocols Participate in quality improvement and unit-based initiatives Neonatal intensive care Newborn assessment Ventilator management IV therapy and medication administration Electronic fetal and infant monitoring Neonatal resuscitation Infection control protocols Care planning and documentation Family education and support Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active NJ RN license BLS certification NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) PALS preferred Previous NICU or high-acuity pediatric experience preferred
