Job Description:
We're seeking an experienced Technical & Product Development Manager to lead our technical function and support continued growth across product development, customer support, manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives. This position provides leadership to the technical team, including chemists and laboratory personnel, while serving as a key partner to Operations, Sales, Quality, and Customer Service. The successful candidate will oversee product development projects, support customer requirements, drive continuous improvement efforts, and ensure technical excellence throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the plant's technical team, including chemists and laboratory personnel. Oversee new product development, formulation optimization, and technical projects. Partner with customers to provide technical support and innovative solutions. Support manufacturing operations through process improvements, troubleshooting, and cost-reduction initiatives. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Sales, and Customer Service to meet business objectives. Drive continuous improvement, product quality, and operational performance. Support product commercialization from development through production.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Technical leadership experience within rubber compounding, elastomers, polymers, silicone, or specialty chemical manufacturing. Experience leading product development, formulation, and customer-driven technical projects. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a production environment.
