Sr. Solutions Architect - Retail, Travel & Hospitality

Overview In this role you drive data-driven transformation for large Retail & CPG accounts by defining technical strategies and guiding adoption of the Databricks platform. You collaborate with Account Executives and cross-functional teams to build champions and align solutions with customer goals. You lead transformational engagements, shaping how customers leverage ML & AI at scale, while mentoring teammates. This is a technical, client-facing role focused on high-impact, multi-account outcomes. Responsibilities Serve as the main technical voice for 1–5 clients and articulate Databricks strategy Lead customers on a transformational journey to evaluate and adopt Databricks Implement the technical strategy within the account, aligned with overall goals Build a movement of technical champions across the account Align technical strategies with Databricks solutions and roadmaps Provide structured mentorship for other team members Key requirements 5+ years of experience in very large accounts (> $1m ARR) in Retail & CPG3+ years in a pre-sales capacity or sales support Technical background in big data, data science, and cloud Proven ability to drive data-driven business transformation 3+ years design/implementation in big data technologies (Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, OLAP) or full lifecycle data science Experience maintaining and evolving production data systems for complex customer needs Production programming experience in Python, R, Scala, or Java Databricks Certification is a nice-to-haveleadershipmentorshipstakeholder managementbig data technologies (Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, OLAP)production programming (Python, R, Scala, Java)cloud platforms
