Rig Operator Job Description: The primary duty of the Pulling Unit Rig Operations is to operate the controls and equipment on a rig. Rig Operator Primary Responsibilities include ensuring all crew members are at the rig and prepared to work at the scheduled time, being knowledgeable in how to set and release down hole tools, operating the rig and equipment as requested by the company, maintaining productivity standards for all rig functions, ensuring quality products and services are provided to the customer, complying with all safety procedures and ensuring a safe working environment, ensuring efficient maintenance of assigned rig and equipment, and establishing and maintaining a positive work environment for a rig crew.
Position Requirements
Rig Operator Job Requirements: Minimum 5+ years of Double Triple Rig experience Minimum 5+ years of Double Pole Rig experience Previous experience as a Pulling Unit Hand, Derrickhand, and Rig Operator in oilfield service/workover operations Strong knowledge of service/workover rig operations and procedures Knowledgeable in setting and releasing downhole tools Experience pulling and running tubing, rods, pumps, and other downhole equipment Experience operating the rig during tubing, rod, pump, and well-servicing operations Knowledge of elevators, slips, power tongs, tubing equipment, and other workover rig equipment Ability to safely rig up, operate, and rig down service/workover equipment Strong understanding of well-control and pressure-control procedures Ability to recognize changing well conditions and respond appropriately Well Control / Well Servicing Certification preferred or ability to obtain Ability to identify equipment problems and perform basic troubleshooting during operations Ability to safely operate around suspended loads, high-pressure equipment, and heavy machinery Ability to direct and coordinate Derrickhands and Righands during rig operations Strong understanding of JSA/JHA procedures, pre-job safety meetings, and stop-work authority Ability to communicate effectively with the Rig Manager, crew members, pumpers, and other field personnel Strong commitment to safe and efficient rig operations Ability to work extended hours, weekends, overtime, and changing schedules as operations require Ability to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions Valid Class A CDLAcceptable driving record Additional heavy-equipment licenses, endorsements, or certifications preferredPEC Safe Land or equivalent safety training preferred Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checkRELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLEFull-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Position: Workover Rig Operator Number of Openings: 1 Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Open Date: 9/29/2026
