About the role

What's Awesome About Our Client? Join a fast-growing, private equity-backed healthcare provider on an exciting growth trajectory. This is a hands-on, "build-it" environment where you will transition the company from outsourced accounting to an in-house team over time. Direct access and partnership with a collaborative, hard-working executive team that leads by example. Work in a highly engaged, team-oriented culture across multi-site healthcare centers in Colorado. Why this job – CONTROLLER: Serve as the key financial and operational partner to the executive leadership team for this multi-site healthcare company. This newly created internal role is designed for a finance leader who thrives in a dynamic environment rather than a rigid, corporate structure. You will bridge the gap between clinical operations, revenue cycle management, and corporate finance. As external accounting support is phased out, you will own the general ledger, ensure GAAP close discipline, optimize cash flow, and help build an in-house accounting department. If you are a curious, proactive professional with deep healthcare reimbursement knowledge who wants to drive real operational impacts, this is the perfect career move. What You'll Actually Do: Take full ownership of the general ledger and lead a robust GAAP month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process. Transition accounting operations in-house from external providers and progressively build out the internal team over time. Partner with Revenue Cycle Management to analyze insurance payer trends, reimbursement mechanics, denials, contractual adjustments, and cash conversion velocity. Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow modeling, and variance analysis to provide clear financial insights for leadership and investors. Bridge operational data with financial reporting to create a "single source of truth" and establish dashboards tracking key operational and clinical metrics. To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/MBA is a plus).7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with proven controller-level ownership. Strong healthcare domain experience, including deep understanding of insurance billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle accounting. Demonstrated ability to build internal controls, policies, and close procedures in a growing, multi-site environment. Experience in a private equity-backed or sponsor-supported environment is a strong plus. Problem-solving mindset with high comfort in cloud-based ERP business systems and advanced Excel. Where and How Much:
Target Compensation: $140K – $165K, up to 20% performance-based bonus. Hybrid schedule with workspace options in Longmont or Lone Tree, CO (1 mandatory day/week in Longmont for leadership meetings).Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and retirement plans.
