Key Responsibilities:
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your daily responsibilities will include: Conducting individual, couples, and family therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Maintaining thorough and accurate client documentation that reflects progress, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to integrate best practices and enhance patient outcomes. Actively participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in mental health treatment. Patient Population / Client Focus Your clientele will encompass a wide range of individuals, from children and adolescents to adults, each facing unique mental health challenges. You will provide support for various issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, trauma, and more, ensuring that every client receives compassionate, individualized care. Your role is critical in fostering resilience and recovery within our community.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications: A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A valid New Jersey state license to practice (LPC, LMFT, or LCSW). At least two years of professional experience in a mental health counseling role. You must possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with clients and team members alike. A working knowledge of electronic health record systems and relevant healthcare technologies. Preferred Experience We value candidates who possess additional skills and experiences that may enhance their contributions to our team. Such preferences include: Advanced training in specific therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care. Experience working in community health settings, particularly with underserved populations. A background in program development or leadership roles within mental health services.
