About the Role:
Our client is seeking an accomplished Principal Investigator with a strong background in Molecular Biology to lead a dedicated research group in George. This senior position requires a visionary leader who can set the strategic direction for innovative research projects, manage a team of scientists, and secure funding through grants and collaborations. You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of our understanding in key areas of molecular biology, translating fundamental discoveries into potential therapeutic applications. This role involves a blend of hands‑on laboratory work, team leadership, and strategic planning, contributing significantly to the scientific reputation and output of our client.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of researchers in designing, executing, and interpreting experiments related to molecular mechanisms.
Develop and implement strategic research plans aligned with the company's scientific objectives.
Independently design and conduct complex experiments, troubleshooting and optimizing protocols as needed.
Secure external funding through competitive grant applications and foster collaborations with academic institutions.
Author high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences.
Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety regulations and ethical guidelines.
Requirements:
Ph. D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated track record of significant research accomplishments and publications in leading journals.
Minimum of 7 years of independent research experience, including experience leading a lab or research team.
Expertise in a range of molecular biology techniques, including gene editing, cloning, and protein analysis.
Proven ability to attract external funding and manage research budgets effectively.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
