At Carpet City Flooring Center, we're looking for an ambitious Business Development Representative to help expand our customer base throughout Central Wisconsin. This isn't a position where you simply wait for customers to walk through the door. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, seeks out new opportunities, and enjoys the challenge of building a successful book of business. No flooring experience? That's okay. We'll teach you flooring. You bring the sales experience, confidence, and drive to succeed. On-Target Earnings: $60,000-$90,000+ Annually Our compensation structure provides the stability of a guaranteed base salary with the opportunity to earn more through upside commissions.
Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 yearly
Responsibilities: This position combines outside business development with showroom-based sales and account management. Our Wausau location will serve as your home base, with opportunities to get into the community and develop new business. Generate new business: Identify and pursue opportunities with builders, contractors, property managers, remodelers, senior living communities, and local businesses. Build your network: Develop relationships through phone calls, referrals, networking, community involvement, and in-person meetings. Grow customer accounts: Turn new connections into long-term business relationships and repeat sales. Manage the sales process: Meet with customers, understand project needs, recommend flooring solutions, and prepare estimates and proposals. Close opportunities: Follow up consistently, negotiate professionally, and convert prospects into customers. Collaborate with your team: Work alongside our Wausau sales, measuring, and operations teams to ensure successful projects. Support showroom sales: Assist customers visiting our showroom while maintaining a strong focus on developing new business.
Qualifications:
  • Details and meeting goals motivate you to provide exceptional customer service to your prospects, clients, and team
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred Strong customer service experience is necessary for this position Exceptional negotiating, interpersonal, presentation, persuasion, and communication skills Experience using CRM software as part of the sales process is preferred

Experience in B2B sales, construction, building materials, home improvement, property management, automotive sales, or other relationship-driven industries is especially valuable What Success Looks Like We aren't hiring someone simply to maintain existing business. Become a trusted flooring resource for businesses and professionals throughout the area. You won't be expected to do it alone. You'll have the support of an established local showroom, experienced flooring professionals, product resources, and an operations team to help turn the business you develop into successful projects. You bring the ability to develop business. We'll teach you the flooring industry.
