About the role

Position Summary: Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior EHS Engineer to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs for one of the most advanced semiconductor packaging and test manufacturing facilities in the United States. This role provides technical leadership and hands-on support for both construction and manufacturing operations. A qualified candidate has experience in occupational safety, contractor management, industrial hygiene, and regulator compliance. The role partners closely with facilities, construction, manufacturing, and contractors to identify and mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster world-class safety culture throughout all phases of site development, commission, and production.
Compensation: $130k to $150k per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement EHS programs supporting transition from construction to operational manufacturing. Conduct risk assessments and process hazard assessments for construction and operational activities. Support implementation of ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation. Partner with site leadership to establish safety objectives, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and response planning activities. Participate in management of change (MOC) reviews associated with new equipment, chemicals, and processes. Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements. Maintain regulatory records, reports, exposure assessment data, and compliance documentation. Analyze EHS performance trends and provide recommendations to site leadership. Provide EHS leadership and oversight for construction, installation, and commissioning activities. Conduct field audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements. Support contractor onboarding, safety orientation, and performance evaluations. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive industrial hygiene programs to identify and evaluate, and control employee exposure to chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Or 7+ years of experience of experience in semiconductor, chemical, or high-tech industrial environments can be used in lieu of a degree.5+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical, or high-tech industrial environments. Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA codes, and relevant safety regulations. Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and contractor management activities. Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems. Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
Preferred Qualifications: Semiconductor, microelectronics, advanced manufacturing, or cleanroom experience. Experience supporting greenfield construction, startup, and commissioning projects. Knowledge of toxic gas systems, hazardous chemicals, ventilation systems, and cleanroom environments. Experience with occupational health programs and exposure monitoring strategies. Experience supporting ISO 14001 and 45001 certification and audits. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).OSHA 30-Hour General/Construction Industry Certification.
