Educational Interpreter – Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Hourly Rate: 45-48/hr
Location: Green Bay, WI; Onsite – School Setting
Position Summary:
RCM Healthcare Services is seeking an Educational Interpreter for a school-based opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The interpreter will facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers, helping students access classroom instruction and participate in school activities. This role involves collaboration with educators and related service providers to support students’ individualized educational needs.

School Year: 2026–2027
Location:
In-person in Green Bay, WI
Schedule / Hours per week: 7:30 AM-3:30 PM Monday through Friday
Start Date:
ASAP
School Site / Student Assignment: To be confirmed
Additional duties: School bus support may be required depending on the assignment
Key Duties:
Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
Facilitate communication during academic and nonacademic settings
Review instructional materials and vocabulary before interpreting
Collaborate with staff regarding students’ IEP goals and progress
Support accessible materials and reinforce classroom learning under teacher supervision
Participate in meetings and professional development
Help maintain a safe, positive learning environment
Requirements:
Education
Meet at least one of the following:
Complete at least 48 semester credits of postsecondary education at an accredited institution
Hold an associate degree or higher
Meet the qualifying state or local academic assessment standard demonstrating the ability to assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction
Preferred: Associate degree in Child Development or a related field.
Licenses & Certifications
Required: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Educational Interpreter License
Preferred:
Dual credentials permitting adult interpreting, including applicable Wisconsin DSPS licensure
Required school and state clearances must be completed prior to placement
Skills
Proficiency in the sign language or communication modality required by the student’s assignment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to interpret educational content accurately and clearly
Ability to prepare for lessons and unfamiliar vocabulary
Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
Preferred: Prior experience working with children
