Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to support orthopedic providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance in a fast-paced specialty practice. Salary/Hourly Rate$45k - $52kPosition
Overview: The Medical Assistant will support orthopedic providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance in a fast-paced specialty practice. This role involves direct patient care, coordination of clinical services, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to follow-up.
Responsibilities: Of The Medical Assistant Prepare exam rooms and ensure appropriate orthopedic equipment and supplies are available. Escort patients to exam rooms; obtain and document vital signs, medical history, pain levels, and chief complaint. Assist providers with orthopedic examinations, procedures, injections, casting, splinting, bracing, and wound care (as trained and permitted).Prepare patients for imaging studies and coordinate with radiology staff as needed. Perform and document basic clinical tests, including range-of-motion measurements and simple functional assessments. Provide patient education on post-operative care, brace use, crutch or walker training, and home exercise instructions per provider guidance. Maintain infection control standards, including cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms and equipment between patients. Manage medication and injection supplies and follow protocols for medication handling and documentation. Required Experience/Skills For The Medical Assistant Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent), or eligibility to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Current BLS/CPR certification. Preferred Experience/Skills For The Medical Assistant Previous experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, or another musculoskeletal specialty. Experience with electronic health records (EMR).
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
