Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and professional Production Clerk / Administrative Assistant to support the Kitting and Component Warehouse operation in Covington, GA. This position combines administrative, production, inventory, and warehouse responsibilities. The Production Clerk is responsible for tracking production, maintaining accurate records, retrieving and controlling components, processing work orders, and supporting daily production activities. This is a manufacturing/warehouse environment, not a traditional office-only administrative position. Candidates must be comfortable working around production operations and material-handling equipment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintain production records and assist with daily production tracking. Utilize work orders to support kitting operations and monthly production schedules. Pull components and materials required to complete production orders. Assist with manufacturing start-up activities on the production floor. Coordinate the movement of released production runs to the finished-goods warehouse. Maintain accurate inventory within component storage areas. Pull, prepare, and send component shipments to other facilities. Return production-floor restocks to appropriate component storage locations. Perform data entry and basic computer-related administrative duties. Assist with directing and supporting daily activities of production operators. Attend required training sessions. Assist with training production operators when directed. Operate material-handling equipment as required. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing production documentation. Follow all safety, quality, attendance, and departmental procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 continuous year with the same employer in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, or quality-related position. Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required. Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Ability to read and understand written instructions and work orders. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong communication skills and professional workplace behavior. Must be comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment. Must be able to work required overtime.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to: Sit and stand throughout the workday. Frequently use hands for handling materials, typing, and other tasks. Reach, bend, and move throughout the production area. Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Travel between different areas of the facility. Safely operate required material-handling equipment.
Work Environment:
This position works within an active manufacturing and warehouse environment. Employees may work near moving mechanical equipment and experience moderate to occasionally loud noise. The department has a large team working within a limited production space, so candidates must be comfortable working in close proximity to other employees while remaining focused, productive, and professional. Important Attendance & Submission Requirements Attendance is extremely important for this position. Candidates must be committed to reporting to work every scheduled day and on time. Required overtime must be worked when scheduled. Candidates should review and understand the department's strict attendance policy before accepting the position. Previous BD/Bard employees should not be submitted for this opening. Relatives are not permitted to work together within this department. Candidates must demonstrate professional workplace behavior and be able to remain focused in a busy team environment. Temp-to-Hire Opportunity This position offers strong potential for conversion to a full-time BD employee.
