Machine Learning Automation Engineer

Overview In this role you will design and productionize ML/DL triage solutions for autonomous driving failures, building agentic LLM systems and maintaining production pipelines. You will work with data science, planning, and quality assurance teams to continuously improve triage workflows and systems used across the organization. This position offers the chance to shape real-time sensing and decision-making capabilities at scale and directly impact safety and efficiency in Zoox’s autonomous driving stack. Compensation / Benefitspaid time offhealth insurance Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights Amazon RSUssign-on bonuslife insurance Responsibilities Design and improve ML/DL algorithms on large-scale data to automate test and triage workflows Build and run agentic LLM systems (Claude or Gemini) that automate triage from prototype to production Operate and monitor multiple production pipelines, diagnose issues, and implement root-cause fixes Collaborate with stakeholders across data science, autonomous drive planning, and quality assurance Create and refine monitoring tools to continuously improve production performance Key requirements PhD or Master's in STEM with 4+ years in triage or performance analytics, including infrastructure as code, ML, NLP, or deep learning Strong productionization and CI/CD experience on medium to large projects with Python and data manipulation Experience with RAG, PyTorch, Tensor Flow, or Hugging Face Hands-on experience building or managing agentic LLM systems (Claude or Gemini) in production with large datasets Experience running multiple production pipelines on platforms like Databricks and AWS and resolving production issues Strong verbal and written communication Cross-functional collaboration Problem solving and debugging in production environmentsML/DL on large-scale data Agentic LLM systems (Claude, Gemini)Python
