About the role
Senior Content Designer12-Month Full-Time Contract We’re looking for a Senior Content Designer / UX Writer to join the Experience Design team at a global consumer brand on a 12-month full-time contract. This role is hybrid in Chicago. You’ll help shape digital experiences used by millions of people, as well as the teams who support those experiences around the world. You’ll work closely with product designers, product managers, researchers, engineers, and other partners to create content that makes complex experiences feel clear, intuitive, and human. This role is ideal for someone who loves the craft of writing but also thinks deeply about the product problems behind the words.
What you’ll do:
- Write and refine product content across complex digital experiences
- Create clear, conversational content that helps people understand what’s happening and what to do next
- Partner with product, design, research, and engineering throughout the product development process
- Shape content strategy alongside interaction and visual design
- Develop reusable content patterns, standards, and guidelines
- Review existing experiences through a content design lens and identify opportunities to improve them
- Contribute to content governance, operations, and scalable content practices
- Explore how AI can support content design workflows and AI-powered product experiences
- Design with accessibility, inclusion, localization, and global audiences in mind
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in content design, UX writing, product design, or a related field
- Exceptional writing skills with a strong command of voice, tone, and plain language
- Strong product thinking and an ability to solve user problems through content
- Experience collaborating with product, design, research, and engineering teams
- Comfort working through ambiguity and contributing from discovery through launch
- Ability to balance user needs with business goals
- Familiarity with Figma and collaborative design workflows
- Comfort using AI tools as part of your everyday workflow
- A thoughtful approach to accessibility and inclusive design
- Bonus experience
- Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Structured content or content modelingAI-powered experiences
- Content governance or content operations
- Design systems
- Localization and global products
- Accessibility and inclusive design
