About the role

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Property Accountant/Portfolio Administrator to support the accounting operations of the property management department. This position is responsible for managing the accounts payable function, some accounts receivable functions and maintaining accurate property-level financial records for a few small assignments. In addition, they would be responsible for ordering any supplies for the department, ordering uniforms for the engineers, managing the archive process, downloading any utility bills for our department and uploading them to Yardi for payment, updating any Matrix files for new assignments, setting up the utilities for any new assignments, and logging any new leases and routing them. The ideal candidate would have good accounting fundamentals with the ability to juggle several projects at once. Experience with commercial real estate accounting and property management software is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable•      Manage invoice approval workflow and complete payment processing.•      Maintain vendor records, W-9 documentation, and insurance certificates.•      Coordinate weekly check runs•      Assist with the processing of 1099’s for all entities annually•      Prepare monthly management fees calculation for all properties Property Accounting•      Prepare monthly rental billing through Yardi process.•      Correspond with tenant regarding outstanding balances.•      Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales tax.•      Enter any cash receipts payments not made though the Yardi payment process.•      Prepare all supporting schedules.•      Assist with preparation of Annual Income and Expenses filing.•      Record accruals, prepaid expenses, and recurring journal entries.•      Reconcile bank accounts.•      Monitor Certificate of insurance for all tenants.
Qualifications: Required•      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience•      2–4 years of accounting experience.•      Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other computer processing skills.•      Strong organizational and communication skills.•      Real estate accounting experience.•      Experience with Yardi preferred.•      Able to communicate effectively with property managers, vendors, tenants, and senior management.
