Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer Location: Plymouth, MA / Rockland, MA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)Job Type: Full Time Job Overview Our client is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to serve as a technical expert in LAN/WAN infrastructure and network hardware. You will install, configure, and maintain network systems while driving performance tuning, recovery procedures, and the highest level of service delivery across enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities Configure and install network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and NACTroubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN, router, server, and telephony issues Perform system upgrades and patching of network appliances Monitor network resources using tools such as PRTG, Gigamon, and Riverbed Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation Implement device hardening standards per CIS or vendor best practices Assist in implementing security tools, policies, and procedures Support routing, switching, and security/VPN technologies in WAN/LAN environments Work on escalated Helpdesk tickets and maintain 24x 7 on-call availability Collaborate with vendors and consultants on business continuity planning Required Skills Proven LAN/WAN network administration and troubleshooting experience Solid understanding of routing and switching; Juniper experience a plus Strong knowledge of SDWAN technology Networking protocols: IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoSDeep understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP stack Experience with VLAN technology, trunking, and spanning tree protocol Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, VPN, and Access Control Lists Proficiency with network monitoring and analytics tools (PRTG, Gigamon, Riverbed)Experience with Microsoft Visio or similar network diagramming tools Preferred Skills Juniper routing/switching experience Familiarity with CIS hardening standards Patch and vulnerability management experience Location & Work Model Plymouth, MA or Rockland, MA - Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)Engagement Details Full Time permanent position. On-call availability required including periodic after-hours and weekend work.
