About the role

I am looking for an FP&A Manager to join a private equity-backed, multi-site company in the Nashville area. Why this role? You'd be the first FP&A hire, with a mandate to design the company's data and analytics model from the ground up rather than fix someone else's. You'd report directly to a CFO who has already built the close, reporting, and board framework. Your time goes to insight, not cleanup. You'd get regular exposure to the CEO and direct involvement in M&A modeling and site diligence. There's a clear path to Director level or above. You'd lead AI and automation strategy for analytics across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Own the FP&A function. Plug into the existing monthly reporting packages and board decks, and provide analytical translation to the executive team. Lead the annual budget and rolling forecast in partnership with Accounting leadership, and present assumptions, risks, and sensitivities to executive leadership. Build and maintain driver-based and three-statement models covering site ramp, study pipeline, staffing, capex, and cash flow, all tied to the long-range plan. Build site-level analytics covering operational KPIs, patient throughput, and patient recruitment. Partner with site leaders on variances and corrective actions. Analyze and optimize marketing spend to drive patient enrollment, and help define the "winning trial profile" to sharpen business development with large sponsors. Structure the data layer and build automated, system-fed executive dashboards on a newly implemented ERP.Prepare Board and PE sponsor materials, including quarterly reviews, budget presentations, covenant views, and acquisition performance versus underwriting. Support M&A through modeling and site diligence, and bring newly acquired sites onto standard reporting and forecasting after close. Lead the AI and automation roadmap for analytics, including governance and validation standards so outputs are trusted and repeatable. Deliver scenario, sensitivity, and ROI analyses for new sites, staffing models, capital allocation, and major initiatives.
Requirements: Roughly 5 to 9 years of progressive finance experience, including a strong FP&A or strategic finance foundation from a large company or structured FP&A environment. Proven financial modeler with three-statement modeling and P&L ownership. This role is modeling-first rather than traditional accounting. Track record of sourcing and linking disparate data sources, and structuring the data that sits behind BI tools (not just building the visuals).Real experience presenting and defending numbers to CFO and CEO-level leadership. Hands-on applied AI and automation, such as workbooks or dashboards fed by system inputs (Power Query, SQL, Python, LLM-based workflows).Ready to run the function independently as the functional lead. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field. In office five days a week, with flexibility when needed.
