Generator Instructor

Locations: Miami Metro | Fort Lauderdale | West Palm Beach | Port St. Lucie | Jupiter, Florida

Employment Type: Full-Time, PermanentKEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and deliver instructor-led and hands-on technical training for standby, portable, and industrial generator systems. Provide practical instruction in generator diagnostics, troubleshooting, load testing, fuel systems, transfer switches, electrical theory, and preventive maintenance. Evaluate technician proficiency, provide targeted coaching, and establish competency benchmarks. Develop technical training curricula, standard operating procedures (SOPs), instructional materials, and job aids. Partner with Service Operations leadership to identify skill gaps and implement targeted training initiatives. Lead new technician onboarding, ongoing technical development, and safety and compliance training. Ensure training practices align with manufacturer specifications, applicable safety standards, and industry best practices. Maintain training generators, equipment, and lab environments to ensure operational readiness and safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive practical knowledge of generator mechanics, electrical systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Experience servicing or supporting leading generator brands, including Caterpillar (CAT), Cummins, Kohler, MTU, and Generac Professional experience in generator service, field operations, industrial equipment, or technical instruction. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into effective, hands-on learning experiences. Strong communication, presentation, mentoring, and technical coaching skills. Working knowledge of NFPA 110, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), and OSHA 30 Electrical or mechanical certifications are preferred.
