Position Summary:
This candidate will help manage and support the Company’s extensive real estate portfolio focusing on development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, financing and commercial leasing. Position Responsibilities Assist real estate and business leaders with negotiating and drafting: Construction contracts Financing Agreements Letters of intent Purchase and sale agreements LeasesOther pertinent real estate documentation Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including professional services agreements and master service agreements Draft and negotiate financing documents, including credit agreements, notes and mortgages Serve as a strategic resource for business leaders; providing insight and input on real estate contractual terms, property management issues, and current regulations.
Travel: up to 10%Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, with a strong academic record and 4 to 6 years of experience as a real estate or corporate attorney Admission to a U.S. state bar with an active license, and compliance with requirements for in-house practice in the State of Illinois Strong ethical background and commitment to integrity Ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties through clear communication and sound judgment Operate with a high degree of independence while collaborating effectively within the legal team
