Position Description: The School of Business at the University of Washington invitesapplications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Supply Chain Management and Operations, with an anticipated startdate of September 16, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstratecommitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in adiverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidatewill join our faculty on a full-time basis (100% FTE) for a 9-monthacademic year, 3-year renewable appointment beginning September 16,2027. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an activeresearch program and Scholarly Academic status as defined by AACSB; publish in leading academic journals; teach a variety ofundergraduate and graduate courses in domains such as Operations Management, Business Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Business Analytics, and/or Artificial Intelligence; and provide service to the School, the University, and the community. Applicants from research areas including Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Management Science, and relatedfields are encouraged to apply. We especially welcome candidateswhose research connects supply chain and operations with AI, machine learning, data-driven decision making, digital andenterprise systems, resilience, sustainability, andtechnology-enabled process innovation. Positive factors forconsideration include a doctorate from a highly regarded, research-intensive U.S. institution or a comparably stronginternational institution. The School of Business The UW Bothell School of Business is accredited by AACSB and isdeeply committed to the success of its faculty in research, teaching, and service. We are well known for our undergraduate, MBA, and MS Accounting programs, and enrollment has been growing ata fast pace. Located 15 miles northeast of downtown Seattle, wework closely with industry leaders, many of whom are headquarteredin the region, as well as smaller, innovative, and rapidly growingcompanies in software, retail, medical equipment, biotechnology, electronics, and aerospace sectors. Our students are drawn from andwork in companies such as Alaska Airlines, Amazon, Amgen, Boeing, Costco, Expedia, Google, ICOS, Meta, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nvidia, Phillips, PACCAR, REI, Starbucks, Symetra, T-Mobile, Tableau, and Zillow, as well as in local, State, and Federal government. The School’s Supply Chain and Operations faculty are activescholars whose work has been published in leading journalsincluding Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, among others. The Supply Chain and Operations faculty cover courses in Statistics, Introductory Operations and Project Management, a widerange of Supply Chain Management courses, Information Systems, andrecently launched courses in Business Analytics and AI, across bothour undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The School of Business is an undepartmentalized School andencourages collegiality across the entire faculty. Faculty membersshould expect to interact with colleagues from other businessdisciplines. As part of UW tri-campus system, faculty members havecomplete access to the computing and library resources of the University of Washington. University of Washington Bothell Located in the heart of the Puget Sound region, the University of Washington Bothell is one of the most dynamic public universitiesin the state of Washington. Salary The base salary range for this position will be $15,556 - $17,222per month ($140,000 to $155,000 annually), commensurate withexperience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Departmentof Labor prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications: Applicants for this position must have earned a doctorate (orforeign equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Management Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a relatedfield, by the date of appointment.
