About the role

We're looking for an Alloy Development Technician to support aluminum alloy research, laboratory testing, and pilot-scale development.
Key Responsibilities: Operate electric resistance & induction furnaces Melt, cast, and heat-treat aluminum alloys Perform alloy additions and chemistry adjustments Prepare samples for metallography and materials testing Conduct thermal analysis, density, corrosion, and tensile testing Operate spectrometers and laboratory equipment Perform cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching Record test data, maintain lab records, and prepare reports Safely operate/learn forklifts, overhead cranes, furnaces, and casting equipment
Requirements: Associate degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical/Manufacturing Technology, or related field OR technical/military training or equivalent industrial experience Experience in a laboratory, foundry, manufacturing, materials, or industrial environment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Good computer, documentation, and data-entry skills Ability to safely work around molten aluminum and high-temperature equipment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience: Aluminum/metal casting, foundry operations, heat treatment, metallography, materials testing, spectrometry, thermal analysis, machine shop, forklift, or crane operation.
