Parks and Recreation Date Available:12/17/2025 Closing Date: Until Filled ELKHART COUNTY GOVERNMENTAL POSITION VACANCY NOTICEPART TIME PARK SERVICES DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Parks & Recreation HIRING RATE: $18.25/hr BENEFITS OFFERED: No Benefits Offered POSITION TO BE FILLED ASAP HOURS & DAYS OF WORK:8 to 40 hours a week depending on Park and scheduling needs; will work late afternoons to closing though other times may be available; shifts will primarily be Friday- Monday but may be scheduled any day of the week including holidays LOCATION OF POSITION:Throughout Elkhart County Parks System, Goshen, Elkhart County TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Between Parks (complete driving page on application)
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include routine grounds, building, and equipment maintenance. Provides protection of park lands, facilities, and park visitors as well as security duties such as closing the parks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GEDValid driver's licenseAbility to operate and provide routine maintenance to lawn equipment and knowledge of light construction helpfulAble to work in all types of weather, walk rough terrain, lift up to 80lbs., handle heights and work in and around waterAbility to work professionally with the public and as a team with other staffInterest in field of outdoor recreationPre-employment background check and drug screenElkhart County Human Resources117 N.
