Tier 2 Systems Administrator Apex Systems is currently hiring a Tier 2 Systems Administrator with a large federal client. This role is in support of a naval program in Suffolk, VA. We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a US Navy enterprise transport network. This position requires ensuring 24/7/365 availability and reliability for a mission-critical network. The role involves end-to-end network, system, and element visibility, facilitating rapid operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning. This is a shift-based role covering continuous operations. Project Details / Mission Supported: Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to identify, triage, and resolve outages, escalating to Tier 3 support when necessary. Utilize advanced monitoring tools to oversee network infrastructure and ensure optimal performance and availability of managed services. Perform daily maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deployments. Operate and maintain privileged access solutions, asset management processes, and configuration management. Maintain and verify failover processes and disaster recovery procedures. Enact change management for the solution and maintain existing incident management processes. Keep firmware, software updates, and patches current for all equipment. Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Additional years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.2+ years' of relevant experience in enterprise architecture supporting a large network infrastructure. Technical skills in the following: Windows Server deployment and administration, Active Directory and Group Policy, RHEL/Red Hat Linux, VMware vSphere for VM deployment, DNSWorking knowledge of Routers, Switches, and Firewalls Understanding of TCP/IP, including routing and subnetting Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or BASH is preferred. Experience with Ansible (Tower), Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Containerization, or Jenkins is preferred. Familiarity with Nautobot, RHEL Satellite, or InfoBlox DDI is preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, RedHat Linux, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate is preferred.
