About the role

Orthopedic Technician Provides assistance to physicians in the application, maintenance and removal of casts, traction, Ilizarov device and other splint or motion device as prescribed. Informs patients / families, staff and students about the use and care of casts, traction and Ilizarov devices; monitors and orders casting and traction supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Performs direct and indirect patient care activities within the scope of practice of an Orthopedic Technician Performs casting, traction and Ilizarov services under the direction and supervision of an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon Demonstrates open, accurate and timely communication with patients/families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic intervention. Maintains competency, adheres to standards of practice, recognizes own learning needs to maximize professional development and optimal patient care
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED1 year orthopedic technician experience. BLSThe pay range for this position is $32.43 - $45.78/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
