Inventory Specialist Manufacturing Operations | Albany, GAArclin USA is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist for its Albany, GA manufacturing location. Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Manager, this role helps ensure accurate inventory records, timely material flow, and strong customer service. The Inventory Specialist works closely with Shipping, Production, Accounting, and site leadership to receive materials, verify raw material and packaging inventory, support the production schedule, and complete physical counts of raw materials and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate with Shipping, Production, Accounting, and site leadership to support accurate inventory control and reporting.o Review daily raw material quantities on hand, including bulk tankers, totes, pallets, packaging supplies, and related materials, to ensure availability for the production schedule.§ Identify, document, and report inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.o Lead weekly and monthly cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods.o Track and reconcile raw material and finished goods inventory stored at outside warehouses while supporting FIFO inventory practices.o Serve as the site liaison to the Corporate Production Planner.o Receive materials in the digital tracking system, including Business Central, JD Edwards, or other applicable inventory systems.o Manage finished goods rework inventory cycles to support the asset schedule. Assist with production, safety, and environmental supplies inventory management and ordering. Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and related records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and methods needed to meet receiving and delivery schedules. Compile and maintain records of unfilled orders. Help minimize logistics bottlenecks within the plant. Post weights and shipping charges accurately. Prepare bills of lading and related shipping documentation. Follow all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Attend all required safety training and perform all duties in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field preferred.3–5 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional email communication and the ability to explain decisions or directions clearly. Strong computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems, queries, reporting, purchase order execution, receiving processes, Excel data analysis, pivot tables, Microsoft Office, and database tools such as Access. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to optimize storage space, inventory flow, delivery timing, supplier options, tank-level readouts, and external warehousing needs. Self-starter with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while adjusting priorities as business needs change. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including sitting, standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, handling materials, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus. This role requires frequent walking through production and warehouse areas to validate inventory.
