The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth within an assigned territory by developing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and partnering with distributor sales teams. This role builds strong relationships with distributors and end customers while executing territory sales strategies, providing product expertise, and identifying opportunities to expand market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, existing customers, and prospective customers. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Partner with distributor sales teams to increase market penetration and customer engagement. Monitor sales performance, customer activity, and KPIs to identify opportunities and address performance gaps. Conduct regular territory and distributor business reviews. Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, pipeline, and sales activity information within the company CRM system. Use CRM data to manage opportunities, forecast sales, track customer interactions, and prioritize territory activities. Provide product training, sales support, and coaching to distributor partners. Gather market intelligence related to customers, competitors, economic conditions, and emerging opportunities. Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and other internal teams to support customer needs. Plan and conduct customer visits, distributor meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations. Maintain strong knowledge of company products, applications, pricing, and competitive positioning. Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
Qualifications:
Outside B2B sales experience; industrial, manufacturing, automation, or technical product sales experience preferred. Experience working with distributors, channel partners, and/or end-user customers. Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts. Experience using CRM platforms to manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, pipeline activity, and forecasting. Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to interpret technical product information, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications. Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the territory. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.4+ years of B2B sales, territory management, or customer-facing experience. Experience selling through a distributor/channel sales model. Experience selling technical or engineered products in an industrial environment.
