About the role

Cloud Platform Engineer, AWS (Remote)Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization, is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to support application teams throughout their cloud journey by automating infrastructure provisioning, providing technical guidance, and troubleshooting cloud environments. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on AWS experience, infrastructure-as-code expertise, and a solid understanding of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. This individual will work independently, support application teams, and help ensure scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure. What the Right Candidate Will Enjoy: Helping application teams adopt and optimize cloud technologies! Automating infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes! Troubleshooting complex cloud and application infrastructure issues! Working with modern AWS, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies! Sharing technical knowledge and mentoring junior team members! Experience of the Right Candidate:4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and/or Cloud Formation. Experience with scripting, command-line tools, code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with Git Lab, including pipeline configuration and code promotion. Experience building and deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Understanding of container image scalability, availability strategies, and command-line troubleshooting. Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AWS Cloud Watch, Prometheus, or Grafana. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and independent problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts and mentor junior resources.
Responsibilities: Support application teams in their cloud adoption journey by providing technical guidance and infrastructure automation. Design, provision, configure, and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure and cloud services. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and/or Cloud Formation. Support AWS services including EKS, Lambda, VPC, Security Groups, EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, KMS, Route 53, MSK, S3, and Glue. Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab, supporting code repository management and code promotion. Build, deploy, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Support application scalability, availability, and deployment strategies. Use monitoring and observability tools to identify, investigate, and resolve infrastructure and application issues. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support across AWS environments. Participate in on-call support as needed, responding to and resolving technical issues. Identify problems and procedural irregularities, gather information, analyze findings, and recommend solutions. Work independently while collaborating with application teams and other technical resources. Train and mentor junior team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and tools, including platform support and troubleshooting. Experience delivering technical demonstrations or training sessions. Experience supporting cloud-native application architectures and enterprise cloud environments.
