Sr. Software Engineer– API & Developer Platform

Overview In this role you will design and build the next generation of enterprise API platform capabilities, enabling scalable backend services and developer experiences. You work with cross-functional teams to advance architecture, governance, and AI-enabled features while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence. You’ll shape API onboarding, lifecycle, and security, and push for automation and observability across production systems. Compensation / Benefits Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)Life insurance options Disability insurance Parental leave 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and holidays", Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise API platform capabilities (onboarding, governance, catalog management, developer portals, lifecycle management)Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, GraphQL and microservices Develop modern web applications and developer-facing experiences with React and Type Script Apply architecture principles (DDD, event-driven, API-first, microservices)Drive automation across API registration, testing, security controls, and CI/CD with Dev Sec Ops Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production environments for reliability and performance Integrate AI-powered capabilities within platform services with governance and responsible AI practices Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, contribute to technical strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams Key requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Five to six years of relevant experience Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and modern API technologies Hands-on API design and governance experience (OpenAPI/Swagger, API lifecycle)Proficiency with React, Type Script, and responsive UI development Knowledge of DDD, event-driven systems, integration patterns, and modern software architectures Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native practices Deep understanding of API/security (OAuth 2, OpenID Connect, JWT, secure coding, authZ/authN frameworks)Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Aurora, MongoDB) and data modeling/performance Experience with observability (logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting) and operational dashboards Experience integrating AI/GenAI into enterprise apps and knowledge of prompt engineering and governance Experience with asynchronous messaging and event streaming technologies Mentorship and leadership of engineers Collaborative, cross-functional teamwork Strong communication and code-review leadership Java Spring Boot Node.js
