Job Overview: The Journeyman 3 Instrument Fitter is a master craftsperson and a technical subject matter expert (SME). This role often leads highly critical fabrication tasks, acts as an on-site quality resource, and ensures the highest standards of installation and cleanliness are met. Key Tasks and
Responsibilities: Serve as the primary field technical resource for all tubing and instrument fitting-related issues, coordinating with Engineering and QC.Oversee the final quality and installation of complex analytical instrumentation and process control panels. Lead and execute the setup for orbital welding of small-bore process piping (where applicable), ensuring cleanliness and joint integrity. Conduct advanced material verification and manage the segregation of exotic materials. Provide technical instruction and quality oversight to multiple subordinate Instrument Fitters. Essential Qualifications and
Education: Minimum 5 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience. NCCER Certification Required Must successfully pass applicable written and practical craft tests as part of the selection process. Expert knowledge in all facets of instrument fitting, fabrication, testing, and quality assurance. Proven ability to work independently, manage a work package, and resolve complex technical field conflicts with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications and
Education: Previous experience acting as a working charge hand or field SME.Experience with the installation of large instrument bundles or distribution manifolds.
