Patient Care Technician

Hartford Healthcare seeks a Patient Care Tech to support nurses and providers in delivering exceptional bedside care. In this vital role, you’ll obtain vital signs, assist with daily living activities, mobility, and transport, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. You’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team, using modern technology and electronic records to document care. Provide direct patient care including vital signs, hygiene, and mobility support under RN supervision Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge, ensuring comfort and safety Monitor and promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff Support nurses and providers during exams, procedures, and treatments Perform specimen collection, basic tests, and accurate documentation in the EHR Maintain clean, safe, and stocked patient rooms and clinical areas Respond to call lights and patient needs promptly and compassionately Follow infection prevention, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to coordinate care Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives Vital signs measurement Patient hygiene and ADL support Safe patient handling and mobility Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation Specimen collection and labeling Basic life support (BLS) Infection prevention and control Medical terminology Patient transport and positioning Observation and reporting of patient status Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – preferred or required per unit Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification State-approved patient care technician or nurse aide training
