Job Location: FL, Milton - Santa Rosa Correctional Institution - Milton, FL, Position Type: Full-Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant, Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution located in Milton, Florida. The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
Essential Duties:
- Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
- Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
- Operating radiographic equipment
- Administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
- Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
- Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
- Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
- Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
- Available Shift: 6AM-4:30PM; Monday-Thursday schedule
