MKE Security Officer

Security Officer Position Covenant Aviation Security (CAS) is seeking professional Security Officers to support airport security operations at Milwaukee-Mitchell International Airport (MKE). Security Officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment by controlling access to restricted areas, verifying credentials, conducting inspections, monitoring activity, and enforcing security procedures in accordance with airport regulations and company policies. This position serves as a visible security presence and requires individuals who demonstrate professionalism, vigilance, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and security. Covenant Aviation Security offers a competitive compensation package, with a starting hourly rate of $21.00 per hour. Essential Functions include appearing on post on time per the assigned schedule, fit for duty, and in the required uniform; maintaining a professional presence, vigilance, and situational awareness at all times; controlling access to designated airport facilities, secured areas, and restricted locations; verifying identification credentials, badges, and access authorizations in accordance with established procedures; inspecting persons, property, deliveries, and vehicles as required by post orders and security protocols; monitoring activity within assigned areas and reporting unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activity; conducting post inspections, equipment inspections, and reviewing pass-down information to maintain operational awareness; preparing accurate daily activity logs, reports, incident reports, and other required documentation; responding appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns and notifying supervisors as required; providing exceptional customer service while interacting with airport employees, contractors, visitors, and the traveling public; maintaining knowledge of all applicable post orders, directives, procedures, and operational requirements; performing vehicle inspections in accordance with post orders and security procedures; and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, minimum of one (1) year of security, military, law enforcement, airport operations, or related experience, a valid Unarmed Private Security Permit issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), ability to obtain and maintain all required airport credentials, badges, and access privileges, ability to comply with airport and company appearance standards, and ability to successfully complete all required training and assessments. Preferred Qualifications include experience working in access control, screening, patrol, or security operations; experience preparing incident reports and maintaining security documentation; and experience working in a fast-paced public environment.
