Respiratory Therapy Supervisor

Encompass Health seeks a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to lead respiratory care services in our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. In this role, you will supervise respiratory therapists, coordinate patient care plans, and ensure high-quality, evidence-based respiratory treatments for patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, mentoring, performance feedback, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams. You will support quality improvement initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, and professional growth. Supervise and mentor respiratory therapists in an inpatient rehabilitation setting Coordinate and oversee daily respiratory care delivery and staff assignments Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team on care plans Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Perform and oversee advanced respiratory assessments and therapeutic interventions Train staff on equipment use, infection control, and best practices Monitor quality metrics and participate in performance improvement initiatives Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of respiratory staff Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in accordance with policy Support a patient-centered, collaborative, and compassionate care culture Respiratory therapy procedures and protocols Mechanical ventilation management Arterial blood gas interpretation Pulmonary function testing Clinical supervision and staff scheduling Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Regulatory and accreditation compliance (e.g., Joint Commission) Patient assessment and care planning Quality improvement and performance metrics Interdisciplinary team collaboration Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Active state Respiratory Care Practitioner license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Prior leadership or charge therapist experience preferred
