Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site/remote role for a Compliance Director. The Compliance Director will oversee the compliance department ensuring all equipment files, FMCSA and DOT regulations are followed. US Customs regulations a plus.
Qualifications:
- Ensure all drivers, vehicles, and operations comply with DOT, FMCSA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Oversee and maintain driver qualification files, including driver's licenses, physicals, and certifications.
- Manage the company's drug and alcohol testing program according to DOT requirements.
- Prepare and submit all necessary regulatory filings, reports, and documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits
- Experience with working for a Trucking/Rigging company who Haul Oversized loads across the United States
- Preparing on boarding documents for new hires, drivers and company hires.
- Driver Qualification and Management: Overseeing the entire driver lifecycle, including pre-employment background checks, managing driver qualification files (DQFs), coordinating annual motor vehicle record (MVR) reviews, and ensuring medical certifications and licenses are current.
- Liaison with External Bodies: Acting as the primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and investigations, and collaborating with insurance, legal teams, and government officials to manage risk
- Experience with Hours of service and the use of Samsara GPS/ELOG system
- Training and Education: Developing and delivering compliance and safety training programs for drivers, operations staff, and management to foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections: Ensuring a robust preventive maintenance schedule is in place, all vehicles pass required annual inspections, and documentation is accurate and readily available in the event of an audit
- Experience with bonded cargo and transportation a plus
