About the role
The Associate Counsel is an experienced attorney responsible for conducting confidential investigations into allegations of prosecutorial misconduct in New York State, reporting to the Deputy Director of Investigations. The role involves evaluating complaints, managing investigative teams, drafting reports with findings and recommendations, and assisting in hearings for the Commission on Prosecutorial Conduct.
Key qualifications:
J.D. with at least 6 years of experience as an attorney admitted to practice in New York State
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Excellent analytical skills
Litigation experience (depositions, trials, and/or appellate)
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality with sensitive matters
