Role Description:
The Medical Office Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Wasilla, AK. This role is responsible for greeting patients, answering phones, and directing inquiries to the appropriate team members in a courteous and efficient manner. Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, checking patients in and out, updating patient information, and managing the front desk workflow. The receptionist helps with insurance verification, collects copayments, processes basic paperwork, and supports the clinical team with administrative tasks as needed. The role also includes maintaining a clean and organized reception area, protecting patient confidentiality, and using practice management software to ensure accurate records and smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Strong phone etiquette and professional communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives. Proficiency in appointment scheduling and calendar management within a medical office or similar environment. Experience with core receptionist duties, including patient check-in/out, front desk coordination, and handling inquiries. Knowledge of medical office procedures and basic insurance verification practices. Comfort using computers, electronic health records, and office software (e.g., scheduling systems, email, word processing).High attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. High school diploma or equivalent; prior medical office or customer service experience is preferred.
