Payroll Manager

Travel: Approximately 25%Candidates must be based in New York City and comfortable with a hybrid schedule and regular travel.We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a large, global organization. This position will oversee a complex, high-volume payroll operation supporting employees across multiple states, business units, and union and non-union environments.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee multi-state payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Lead and develop a team of payroll specialists and analysts. Manage complex payroll activity, including hourly, salaried, union, non-union, and off-cycle payrolls. Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Time & Attendance teams to improve payroll processes. Support payroll audits, compliance initiatives, reporting, and system enhancements.

Qualifications: 10+ years of multi-state, enterprise-level payroll experience.5+ years of payroll management or supervisory experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or a related field. Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, reconciliations, and compliance. Experience with enterprise payroll systems such as SAP, ADP, or Kronos.

Preferred: CPP or FPC certification and experience managing complex payroll operations across multiple locations. This is an opportunity to help lead a large payroll operation while supporting major system improvements and a time-and-attendance transformation.
