American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with charge experience and a compact or VA RN license required for a night shift travel assignment.
Requirements:
- Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
- Candidates with pending certifications will be consideredBLS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience requiredBSN not required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with feeding tube care, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
- Cardiac monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, and emergency response experience
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Medical Surgical unit setting
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-17:00 Charge experience required
- Floating may be required in rotation with staff according to facility policy and clinical experience
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred, not required
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays, with 8-10 hours of required modules completed during orientation and annually
- Scrubs may be any color with professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats allowed
- Nicotine-free campus
- Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staffRTO must be approved prior to assignment start, preferably none in the first weeks of the assignment
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
