Position Summary:
The Clinical Rater will administer and score clinical assessments and rating scales for participants enrolled in clinical trials. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and reliability of clinical data used to support research outcomes. The ideal candidate has experience in mental health, neurology, or medical research and is skilled at building rapport with patients while adhering to study protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct standardized clinical assessments and rating scales according to study protocols.
Maintain accuracy and consistency in scoring clinical interviews and assessments.
Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and site SOPs.
Document participant responses and findings accurately in study databases and source documents.
Collaborate with study coordinators, principal investigators, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth study operations.
Participate in rater training and calibration sessions to maintain inter-rater reliability.
Communicate effectively with participants and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of previous experience conducting clinical assessments or structured interviews in a research or healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of clinical rating scales (e.g., HAM-D, MADRS, PANSS, CDRS).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain accuracy under tight timelines and follow detailed protocols.
Preferred:
Certification in clinical assessment scales or research-specific training.
Experience in industry-sponsored clinical trials.
Familiarity with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial software.
