Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to lead automation projects for a dynamic industrial automation firm. This role requires expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS/DeltaV systems, along with project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and commission control systems while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring project profitability.
Key Responsibilities: Design and implement control system architectures (PLC, DCS, HMI/SCADA).Develop schematics, panels, and network designs (under 480VAC).Lead project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and profitability. Commission systems on-site and troubleshoot technical issues. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Education: Bachelor's in Electrical/Control, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field)Licensure: PMP certification a plus
Experience: 8+ years in industrial automation (PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS/DeltaV).2-3 years minimum with Emerson DeltaV platform. Experience in PLC-5 to Control Logix conversions. Project management for systems up to $10M.
Technical Skills: PLC platforms: Rockwell Automation, Siemens, ModiconHMI/SCADA: Ignition, Factory Talk, Aveva, GE iFIXProgramming: Ladder Logic, Structured Text, VBA, SQL, Python Industrial networking: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus
