Finance & Business Manager – Haiti Food Systems Alliance (HFSA) The Finance & Business Manager will oversee HFSA's financial management and core business operations. The position will strengthen the systems, processes, partnerships, and resources required for HFSA to operate effectively and grow sustainably. Working closely with HFSA's leadership, members, partners, and external service providers, the manager will support financial planning, organizational operations, compliance, business development, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, analytical, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, and budget performance. Analyze financial results, variances, and spending trends. Prepare financial and management reports for leadership and governance bodies. Coordinate accounting, payments, procurement, contracts, and vendor relationships. Maintain appropriate financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and organizational policies. Business and Organizational Operations Strengthen HFSA's administrative systems, policies, procedures, and workflows. Maintain organizational records, contracts, and related documentation. Support annual planning, performance monitoring, and resource allocation. Coordinate relationships with vendors and external service providers. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and organizational capacity. Business Development and Sustainability Identify potential partnerships, funding sources, and revenue-generating opportunities. Support proposal development, partnership cultivation, and resource mobilization. Conduct market research and feasibility assessments. Develop business cases and financial models for new initiatives and services. Promote innovative approaches that support HFSA's growth and long-term sustainability. Strategy and Leadership Provide financial and operational analysis to support leadership decisions. Support implementation and monitoring of HFSA's strategic and business plans. Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and organizational improvements. Advise leadership on operational costs, resource allocation, and growth opportunities. Support staff development, mentoring, and organizational capacity-building as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, economics, organizational development, or a related field. At least five years of relevant experience in financial management, business operations, organizational development, project management, or a related area. Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial reporting, vendors, contracts, and administrative systems. Experience working with multiple partners, stakeholders, or member organizations. Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Haitian Creole; French is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and digital collaboration tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a remote environment. Demonstrated integrity and ability to manage confidential financial and organizational information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in agriculture, food systems, international development, nonprofit management, social enterprise, or the private sector. Experience working with coalitions, networks, associations, or membership-based organizations. Familiarity with Haiti's business and development ecosystem. Experience in resource mobilization, partnership development, or business development. Familiarity with financial, project-management, or organizational-management platforms.

This is a fully remote, Haiti-based position. The Finance & Business Manager will collaborate virtually with HFSA staff, members, partners, and service providers. Some flexibility to participate in meetings across time zones is required.
