As a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing sophisticated signal processing solutions for next-generation electronic warfare, communications, and sensing systems. This is an opportunity to work alongside talented engineers on technically challenging problems where your expertise in DSP algorithms, communications theory, software-defined radios, and C/C++ directly contributes to advanced defense capabilities. Primary Responsibilities Include:
Architect and implement complex digital signal processing systems for communication and sensing platforms.
Develop and implement sophisticated DSP algorithms and translate system concepts into robust, high-performance solutions.
Prepare complete project design documentation, including requirements, specifications, test plans, and reports.
Design and conduct experiments; analyze and interpret data to validate system and component performance.
Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work to ensure technical quality and schedule adherence.
Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for assigned projects.
Assist in the preparation of proposals to obtain funding for engineering projects and programs.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across software, hardware, systems, and integration functions.
Contribute innovative ideas and technical solutions that advance products, capabilities, and mission performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant DSP and/or communications engineering; or Master’s Degree and 6+ years’ experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced digital signal processing algorithms.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communications theory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages, preferably C or C++.Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
- Technical Track – Depth and Breadth:
- Demonstrated experience with several systems and technologies outlined in Technical Competencies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in at least one technical area.
- Maintain working knowledge in a number of other specialization areas.
Technical Competencies:
- Software-defined radios (SDR)
- Digital signal processing theory
- Signal processing algorithm design and implementationC/C++ programmingDSP validation
- Software/hardware implementation, collaboration, and integration
- System requirements analysis and traceability
- Rate conversion, correlation, and filtering
- Revision control tools (e.g., TFS, Git)
Compensation:
$110K to $170K.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
